At Budwood we’re proud of our staff team, which is made up of a diverse group of hard-working individuals from a variety of backgrounds who share a commitment to improving the lives of children. Our homes are staffed by both male and female Residential Support Workers who work day in, day out to achieve the best outcomes for the children at Budwood.
- Our staff act as positive role models for children, modelling positive behaviour.
- At least one member of staff will be in the home at all times, offering 24/7 support for young people.
- Our staff use the C.A.T.C.H® Model alongside therapeutic parenting techniques to support young people who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences.
- Our staff receive monthly clinical supervision with the House Therapist.
- Staff have regular opportunities to take part in training opportunities, team learning events and practice their skills.

Our Professional Team
Staff at Budwood are trained professionals who are dedicated to continually learning and developing their practice. All staff in Budwood homes have achieved or are working towards a Level 3 Children & Young Peoples Workforce Diploma, and are given the opportunity to develop their career by progressing onto a Level 4 qualification.
The Registered Manager at each of our homes has completed a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care, equipping them with all the skills they need to fulfil the needs of the young people in their care.
Staff Training Opportunities
Before working at Budwood, our staff members receive mandatory training in a multitude of subjects including health and safety, child protection, first aid and safe record keeping.
Within the first six months of their employment, staff will also undertake a further core series of training modules, equipping them with a full range of knowledge on subjects including:
- Safeguarding
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Data Protection & Cyber Security
- Our bespoke C.A.T.C.H® Model of therapeutic support
- PRICE training in positive behaviour support, safe restraint and conflict de-escalation techniques.
We want to ensure that our staff feel confident and empowered to provide the best standard of care for children they’ll be looking after. That’s why we provide our staff with the opportunity to further develop their skills via a range of excellent courses provided through both independent e-learning study and online sessions delivered by qualified trainers.
