Our Supported Accommodation Homes

Our supported accommodation residences are the perfect place for care-experienced young people to discover their independence. While at Budwood young people will learn a range of life skills and will be supported in their relationships, behaviour management, and mental and physical health.

Young people will also be supported to make and reach education and employment goals, setting them up for a bright future. All of this takes place in a safe and secure home environment where young people will receive the guidance and support of our dedicated, trauma-informed staff team.

“It’s like a family home, it’s been fun… It’s quite nice to have [the staff’s] help. They help to get you ready for the big world!”

– Pete, who was supported until independence at Budwood

What makes Budwood a fantastic place to be…

  • 24/7 support. At least one member of our therapeutically trained staff will be always available in the home, day and night, providing support, guidance and reassurance.

  • Safety and security. The safety and protection of young people is of paramount concern here at Budwood, and we ensure that our accommodation is secure, safe and well-managed. Learn more about our health and safety measures.
  • A warm welcome. Our bedrooms are beautifully furnished with quality furnishings and bedding, and have all the essentials including a bed, desk, wardrobe, TV, and chest of drawers. Every young person will have Wi-Fi access and will be provided with a ROKU streaming device access to Netflix.
  • Supporting young people’s privacy. Privacy is always respected at Budwood, and young people are provided with a key to their bedroom to give them privacy and peace of mind. Each young person is provided with their own cupboard space in the kitchens and will have access to a landline phone.
  • A family feel. We offer supported accommodation in a home setting, where young people each have their own bedrooms and share communal spaces such as the kitchen and living areas. This provides plenty of opportunities to socialise. We encourage young people to connect with our staff and make friends with the young people they share their home with.
  • Relax together. Our supported accommodation homes have comfortable communal areas where young people are encouraged to unwind together, with fun activities to enjoy like watching TV or playing games consoles.
  • Becoming responsible. When young person arrives at Budwood they will receive a thorough induction from our staff team as well as a welcome hamper containing and a copy of our Young Person’s Guide. They will be asked to sign a tenancy agreement and will be expected to abide by the house rules. Each young person will have a curfew which is assessed according to their level of independence.

Emergency Admissions

We are able to accept emergency referrals. In the event of an emergency admission, we will ensure that we have received any necessary documents from the young person’s local authority, including a risk assessment. Upon admission, a placement planning meeting will be held with the young person’s placing social worker.

Make a Referral

Budwood accepts referrals made via local authorities. Once you make a referral, our team will conduct a matching assessment to ensure that we can provide the young person with the right type of support.

When a placement is offered, we will warmly invite the young person to visit the property to get to meet some of our staff and take a look around their new home before moving in.
