Children's Home Manager

Salary: £30 – £32K dependant on experience

Location: Southampton

Candidates must have experience in working in Child Protection and Looked After Children Services, and have the relevant qualifications. 

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to manage a 3 bedded therapeutic residential home for young people with complex needs. The Home’s Care Manager will ensure the practice within the home is of a considerably high standard, nurturing and therapeutically driven to ensure the best outcomes for our young people. The Manager will be supported by a strong team of support workers, a therapist / psychologist, an Education Consultant and a senior management and administration team.

The successful candidate will manage the day to day operations of the home, supervise the staff, engage with the young people as required and lead on the professional networking with our Local Authority customers. They will report to the Operations Manager, and work alongside closely with House Managers in their area to ensure the effective running of services.

The successful candidate must be flexible, have an understanding of working with traumatised young people, be knowledgeable about attachment disorder and promote an environment that is safe and nurturing. They will have previously worked within residential settings for children, and enjoy spending time with children and helping them reach their potential.

They will be able to manage safeguarding concerns, lead on risk management and importantly be IT literate to ensure compliance with our electronic systems and GDPR.

Budwood will facilitate for the successful candidate to complete an intensive training programme of therapeutic parenting (preferably DDP), and Level 5 in Management of Children’s Services.

Experience: Children’s home: 2 years (Preferred)
Licence/Certification: Driving license (Essential)
